The preparation of the Program for development of the Skopje planning region 2020-2024, as one of the most important strategic documents, is of great importance for the Skopje planning region. For that purpose, today within the project “Sustainable and inclusive balanced regional development”, funded by the Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation was held the first regional workshop to which were invited and attended by representatives of the Ministries, representatives of the business sector. chambers of commerce, representatives of the non-governmental sector and representatives of the municipalities.
In the first part of the workshop, Ms. Natasha Amdiu, UN Women Coordinator, gave a presentation “Gender Responsive Budgeting for Balanced Regional Development” and presented the need for a gender responsive approach in setting strategic priorities and budgets, taking into account the different positions of women and men and the various obstacles they face.
The workshop continued with a presentation by the leader of the expert team, Ms. Svetlana Petrevska who had the opportunity to present the key findings of the sector analysis that were made in the past. The preparation of SWOT analyzes – in certain thematic / priority areas for the development of the program are inevitable. In that direction, the participants were actively involved, by exchanging ideas and proposals, discussion with vision and directions in which the Skopje planning region should be developed in order to grow into a recognizable, competitive region, which is ready to respond to the challenges of a modern digital age.
