On December 28, 2020, the Center for Development of the Skopje Planning Region held the last 4th forum session in which representatives of municipalities, NGOs and civic associations participated in the presentation and discussion on the results of the second cycle of Regional Forums, whose focus was “Social Inclusion”.

The implementation of the Regional Forums enabled the participatory participation of the citizens in determining the priorities in the Skopje planning region, as well as the creation of a platform for structured discussions and proposals. They have also contributed to capacity building and the creation of local and regional partnerships, all with the aim of improving the lives of people in the community.

At the session, the moderator, Zaklina Cvetkovska, presented the activities undertaken during the forum process, the goals of the program “Regional Community Forums”, as well as the results of the identification and selection of project proposals arising from the forum process.

Ms. Rozeta Arsovska, Project Coordinator at the Center for Development of the Skopje Planning Region (CRSPR), informed the participants about the efforts made by the SPR Center to provide opportunities through other donors and / or programs to enable the realization of the selected projects, as no project proposal received support for implementation within the project “Regional Community Forums”.

As an example, Mr. Brnimir Jovanovski, a representative of the National Council of Persons with Physical Disabilities, pointed out that with the help of CRSPR, their project proposal “Reconstruction of a resort for people with disabilities in Ohrid” applied through the Center for Development of the Southwest Region, and Ms. Katerina Kiev, a representative of the Municipality of Gazi Baba informed that their project proposal “Construction of a day care center for people with intellectual and physical disabilities in the Skopje planning region” – applied through the Center for Development of the Skopje Planning Region, for funding from the Program for balanced regional development for 2021 of the Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Bureau for Regional Development (MLS / BRR).

The regional community forums are implemented with the support of the Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation within the project “Sustainable and inclusive balanced regional development 2017-2020”.
