According to the Decision of the Government of RM for providing funds for financing  development projects of the planning regions in 2011, one of the projects to be implemented in the Skopje region is : Preparation of project documentation for the canal system “Skopsko Pole”. Leader of the project is the Centre for Development of the Skopje region and will be implemented in partnership with municipalities Ilinden, Zelenikovo, Petrovec, Aracinovo and Gazi Baba.

In order to improve the living conditions of citizens, protection of agricultural land and material goods from flooding caused by heavy rain, a working meeting was held attended by: Head of Centre for Development of the Skopje region, Ms.Aneta Lozanoska, the mayors of the municipalities of Gazi Baba, Ilinden and Aracinovo, Mr. Tony Trajkovski, Mr.Zika Stojanovski and Mr. Bastri Bajrami,representatives of municipalities Petrovec and Zelenikovo, as well as  the Director and representatives of PE Vodostopanstvo “Skopsko Pole “.

At the working meeting it has been discussed for the actual operational conditions of the channel system “Skopsko Pole”, the problems faced by municipalities in this part of the Skopje region and for the need of PE Vodostopanstvo “Skopsko Pole” to improve the efficiency of operation of the channel drainage system.

Representatives attending the meeting jointly coordinate the activities and determined the priorities that need to intervene in particular through the creation of project documentation for the channel system.

Also, at the meeting agreement has been reached and a positive cooperation has been established between the mayors and representatives from PE Vodostopanstvo “Skopsko Pole”, and the next steps to undertake joint activities in the field hasbeen agreed.
